LIMINAL – Corrie

Corrie (@_thehappybread) is a working interior designer, who dabbles in other design and art media from time to time. She loves learning and exploring whenever she can, expressing herself through creative means!

Where is she from?

Corrie began her creative journey in secondary school, where she studied pure design and technology for O-levels. Her passion for design led her to further her studies in retail and hospitality design at Temasek Polytechnic, followed by spatial design at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). With about six years of formal education in design, Corrie now works at an interior design firm, having secured her position after a two-year search.

Corrie’s creative skills extend beyond formal training. She is self-taught in various art forms, including digital art, photography, and a variety of mediums — clay, resin, punch needle, papermaking, wood, felt, lino.

What does she enjoy doing for fun?

Corrie relieves stress by baking, seeing food as an art form where different ingredients combine to create a masterpiece. She also tries to make her own recipes. Additionally, designing and making art remain her cherished hobbies, blending her professional and personal interests.

How did she get started?

Corrie’s love for design feels innate. As a child, her parents encouraged her creativity by sending her to art classes. A memorable moment from her childhood involved building a paper house with furniture and a tiny human figure. Though her parents eventually discarded it, the experience left a lasting impression. Her father also played a significant role, allowing her to explore photography from a young age, using a slide phone camera.

What kind of art does she do/like?

Corrie primarily creates digital art, but you can also expect to see prints, stickers, and physical whatnots from her.
