Rebecca (@rebeccaaa_artz) is an illustrator and animator who loves expressing the complexity of human emotions. A fun fact about her is that she took a life saving swimming tests more than 10 years ago, and just needs to complete 2 more tests to qualify as a lifeguard or something hahaha.
Where are you from?
Rebecca studied at Nanyang Technological University, School of Art, Design and Media (NTU ADM). She’s currently working as an illustrator for Unfold Asia (Our Grandfather Story, Ribbit.FYI, Sincerely Singles), soon to be freelancer maybe??
What do you like doing for fun?
Rebecca likes cuddling with her cats…and drawing. If she has the time and energy..if Singapore is not this hot, she would go for more nature walks LOL. She enjoys going for natural walks when she travels.
How did you get started?
Rebecca started drawing when she was really young. She remembers copying the anatomy of Tarzan and Lion King characters when she was about 5-8 years old. She doesn’t draw as frequently or as much as a lot of artists, but she does so almost everyday.
For Rebecca, drawing and art is a form of language that helps her to express and process her own emotions. As for ADM, she chose it as a form of necessity and a path that God led her to. She has no regrets choosing this path, even if it leads her to something else in the future.
What kind of art do you do/like?
Rebecca enjoys drawing and animating. Her go to is always graphite. It feels safe to her. She really enjoys the feeling of a pencil on paper, and the tectures it creates. She does work on other mediums also though!
